MD gets on his bike …. for charity!
Chris Bantock, our MD, is undertaking a challenge this September to raise money for Rennie Grove Hospice Care charity, and we are looking for your support!
The challenge is to cycle 350 miles in 4 days! It is called the ‘Isle of Wight Challenge’ and he will be cycling from St Albans to the Isle of Wight and back.
Day 1 – Cycle from St Albans to Southampton and then ferry to Isle of Wight
Day 2 – Cycle round the Isle of Wight
Day 3 – Cycle from Southampton to Swindon
Day 4 – Cycle from Swindon to the finish at St Albans
This challenge has been organised by FORGE (Friends of Rennie Grove) which is a group of around 30 businessmen of varying ages and abilities including the head of the local Clydsdale Bank who is partially sighted and will be undertaking the challenge on a Tandem. The team is headed up by Graham Poll – the ex premier league referee.
Rennie Grove Hospice Care (http://www.renniegrove.org/) is a charity providing care and support for patients diagnosed with cancer and other life-limiting illness and their families. It is the charity’s 30th Birthday this year.
Chris who only started cycling seriously last year says “I am certainly a little apprehensive to say the least. I have not cycled this far and on consecutive days before, so this will really test my fitness and stamina. Still, it is all for a great cause and will be an experience I will not forget.”
We are asking for you to support Chris in his endeavours by making a contribution to his fundraising – any amount however small will provide valuable funds to this very worthwhile cause.
To show your support for Chris please make a contribution to his Just Giving page.
We will be keeping you updated on Chris’s progress during the challenge in September.
